Dr. Paul May
Dr. Paul May

Veterinarian

Dr. May graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. He served in the Air Force as a Veterinarian for two years. He taught for 8 years at ABAC and was the head of the Veterinary Technician program there. After leaving ABAC, he opened a practice in Columbus, GA where he practiced from 1982 until 2005. He retired from this practice with the intent of only doing dentistry. He came to Vidalia in 2006 and fell in love with the area and people. In July of that year, he and his wife, Suzanne, moved and brought the practice. Now he is a relief vet a few days a week.

Between him and his wife, they have three dogs that are a part of their lives. Beamer showed up as a stray and has become their friend and protector. He also functions as a part-time greeter at the office. Foxy is a pomeranian and a loving ball of fur. The newest is a Yorkie named Piper. She is a bundle of playful fun. These three fill their home with so much love!

Vidalia Veterinary Clinic strives to be a modern, well-equipped clinic. Our goal is to have the best staff that are friendly and loving to your pets. Pets are an important part of our families as they are yours. The care and compassion of the veterinarians and staff is aimed at improving the human-animal bond. We offer high-quality care to the heartbeat at your feet!

Stella joined us in June of 2021 as a vital member of our team. She graduated from Toombs County High School in May of 2021. She originally planned to go to nursing school but fell in love with helping these animals who couldn’t help themselves. When asked what she loves most about her job she said, “Having the opportunity to give love to all of our sweet patients. I love being able to make these sweet animals feel welcomed and loved.” She has always loved animals and loves having them as a part of her daily life. When she is not working, she spends time with her German Shorthair Pointer puppy, Banks. They enjoy riding around and going to the river.

Cassie Sutton
Receptionist

Cassie is a student at Tattnall County High School, doing dual enrollment at Ogeechee Technical College. She hopes to one day be able to own her own clinic with emergency service hours. However, circumstances are not allowing this at the moment, so she plans to go into the medical field with people until she is able to make her dream real. Cassie has been with us since June of 2023 as our receptionist. She has a Catahoula puppy named Chance and a Great Pyrenees named Willow. When she is not at work she is riding around with Chance in her lap and cooking.

Thomas
Thomas Allen

Kennel Assistant

I’m currently going to East Georgia to get my first two years and then move on to Georgia Southern to pursue my biology degree. My lifelong goal is to be a Veterinarian and help all those fur babies out there. I have tons of animals at home including, 4 dogs and 4 cats. They are true companions to me and my family. They drove me to this career because they allowed me to seek knowledge on how to keep them safe and healthy. My favorite thing about working in this field is the sense of accomplishment when you have helped a pet and see them back to their healthy selves. In my spare time, I love to paint miniatures and play video games.

Maui
Maui
Security

Maui has been at the clinic cat since 2013, when he came to us as a rescue. His hobbies include playing hide ‘n’ seek, greeting clients and fellow pets, and helping save other kitties’ lives by giving blood. In the mornings, he likes to stroll through the clinic to make sure everyone is on task. In the afternoons, he ventures outside, where he spends most of his time exploring and relaxing in the sun. Maui also enjoys head rubs, demanding love and attention, and his wet food.

Lieutenant Dan
Lieutenant Dan
Security

Lieutenant Dan has been at the clinic since 2019 when he came to us as a rescue. He was found with a large wound and muscle atrophy to his front left leg. We tried physical therapy for 6 weeks to see if we could help regain the use of his leg, but unfortunately, it continued to atrophy. We elected to have the limb amputated, and it hasn’t slowed him down one bit! His hobbies include destroying houseplants, tripping you as you walk, and snuggling in your lap. He’s a very feisty little guy, but he also aids Maui with helping save other kitties’ lives by giving blood.
